We Help People See, Experience, and Live God's Love
Who we are, why we exist, and how we're helping people experience God's tranformative love
We are a community dedicated to helping people discover the transformative power of God's love. Through our podcasts, coaching, resources, and community, we guide people on a journey to see God's beauty with increasing clarity, experience his presence with deepening wonder, and live everyday lives of radical love. We do this by inviting people into the Gospel narrative where they behold God's true character, experiencing transformation from the inside out as they begin to live from this new narrative identity.
Our Story
It started more than two-decades ago with a shared vision that we returned to often. We believed that God's love, communicated in a fresh, accessible way, could transcend the barriers many experienced in their spiritual journeys and lead to deep, soul-nourishing transformation. ver the years, we had many rich conversations inspired by this belief, and when circumstances brought us back together after the COVID years, something remarkable happened:
A sense that our moment to realize this dream, had come.
"It's now or never," Bob said in a phone conversation. The timing felt divinely orchestrated-our complementary experiences, insights, and passions converging at exactly the right moment.
Bob's Journey
It began as a teenager searching for purpose amid family challenges. His spiritual curiosity led to he discovery that the picture of God he'd embraced as a child was distorted. In Scripture, however, he found a beautiful picture, and with it, freedom and hope. This eventually led him from the construction industry and into pastoral ministry. During the difficult COVID pandemic, and after nearly 30 years of ministry, Bob faced circumstances that threatened this beautiful | picture of God.
Through these circumstances, he discovered four life-changing principles:
- See the beauty of God's character
- Meditate on what you see
- Accept what God teaches as your own
- Rest daily in being fully known and fully loved by Go
Nathan's Journey
The son of religiously devout parents, he embraced a guilt-driven, rule-centered spiritual framework from his earliest years. Nearly 15 years after embracing a call to pastoral ministry, he faced a crisis that exposed deep spiritual dysfunction. In response, he made the decision to abandon the crushing spiritual framework he'd held since childhood, deciding to fully embrace God's love as the defining element of his life.
This transition wasn't easy—fighting his old religious framework often left him feeling disoriented. The intense struggle, however, gave birth to a clarity of understanding and experience that reshaped his life around the compelling belief that God's love is enough. With time, this new framework redefined his understanding of life and Scripture, leading to deep, inner flourishing.
Our Convergence
Following the pandemic, and a tragedy in Nathan's family, what had once merely been a theme of conversation between old friends, began to show signs of divine orchestration. When Bob shared his SMAR framework, Nathan recognized these principles as reflective of what he'd discovered in his own journey. The synergy between their experiences was undeniable-Bob bringing a structured framework and Nathan bringing his own, raw experience of God's love.
Forward
In our reunion, we discovered God's redemptive handiwork—how he'd been preparing us through separate journeys for a shared mission that neither of us could've developed alone. In 2023, this divine convergence gave birth to Loveshaped Life—a ministry combining our experience and insights to help others break free from distorted perceptions of God. Today, we invite others into this transformative narrative, confident that as people truly see and experience God's love, their lives will naturally be beautifully reshaped.
Our Approach
The Framework
We often remind our podcast listeners to: "See, experience, and live God's love." This isn't just a tagline—it describes the transformative journey we invite people to embrace. Here are the four principles of the SMAR framework that guide our approach:

See
We begin by helping people see God for who he truly is—not the distorted caricatures many have encountered through negative religious experiences or surrounding culture, but the God of selfless love revealed throughout Scripture and most perfectly in Jesus.

Meditate
Transformation requires more than intellectual knowledge. We guide people in reflecting thoughtfully on what they've discovered about God's character. In these quiet moments, thoughtful reflection reveals layers of meaning and beauty that transform how we understand God, ourselves, and others.

Accept
Many people intellectually understand God's love but struggle to accept it as personally true for them. We help people embrace and experience this love, allowing it to wash away distorted perceptions of God, rewrite negative self- narratives, and reshape their perception of others. As this love takes root, they naturally begin embodying it in all their relationships.

Rest
The culmination of this process is learning to rest in God's love-experiencing the transformative peace of living in the daily rhythm of being fully known and fully loved. This rest isn't passive but creates sustainable spiritual vitality that energizes all aspects of life, through a deep, inner upwelling of love.
Our Community

Seeing and experiencing God's love. Together.
What makes Loveshaped Life unique is our commitment to walking alongside people on their journey. We believe transformation happens best in community, where we can share our experiences, support one another through challenges, and celebrate growth together.
Our community includes people at every stage of the journey-from those just beginning to question their distorted pictures of God to those who are actively living out his love-shaped life in their families, workplaces, and communities. We create spaces both online and in-person where authentic connection can flourish and where people can experience the kind of love they're made for.
